Hey u guys, I was just wondering, can a queen bee fly? My bro and I saw a bee today, and then he said " did you know queen bees cant fly?" I dis agreed with him, and said that the queen bee CAN fly, she just never leaves the hive so she doesnt need to fly. Please help solve this lil problem! Thx so much!
Yes, Queen Bees can fly. The only time that you seem them doing that though is when the hive swarms. In fact, I just saw a swarm the other day. It was a large clump of bees on a tree branch. It was about the size of a football. Bees do this when searching for a ncan queen bees flyew home due to the decimation of their old hive. Somewhere in the middle of that football sized mass of bees was the queen.
The other time when queens fly is when new ones are born. Their can only be one queen in a hive, so the new ones are either challenged by the existing queen, which is a fight to the death or are forced to leave the hive. They take with them a mass of worker bees, and some drones (males) which do sometimes mate with the new queen in flight. When a new and adequate home is found, the Worker Bees then set to the task of creating the new hive. It iscan queen bees fly incredible how much they can accomplish in a short amount of time. These bees often work themselves to death........literally!!!!!
of course a queen bee can fly , all bees fly ,
Yes, queen bees can fly. They just don't very often.
Infact, they initially mate in flight.
Yes of course a queen bee can fly. It is very rare to see a queen bee flying. The queen bee never leaves the nest because she is the source of breeding in the hive.I've seen one before cause there was a nest in my filter for our pool.
uh yes?
the big bee's are the queens
and the fly.
