I'm just curious
I was taught that people said bless you because they believed that a sneeze was a demon leaving your body. So blessing that person eliminated the bless you sneezedemon. Which one is correct probably matters little though. I usually say bless you after someone coughs too, and burps. It's just polite.
Because back in the day bless you sneezepeople where superstitious and thought that when you sneezed your soul would exit you body so they say bless you so that it can go back into there body.
