Upon filling out my flu shot application, it asked if I was allergic to any foods or medicines (It listed eggs as an example). When the pharmacist was inputting the data into the computer, he asked me if I was allergic to eggs. And finally, when he sat down next to me and swabbed my arm just before giving me the flu shot, he asked again if I was allergic to eggs. Every time I told hiask the pharmacistm no. What is the relationship with eggs and a flu shot?
"People with egg allergy could have a reaction when given the flu vaccine because the vaccine may contain some amount of egg protein."
many vaccines are cultured in egg white proteins or horse urine proteins
anyone with an allergy to eggs or horses can go into anaphylaxic shock
if they have the vaccine
my son & I ask the pharmacistcan't have vaccines because we both almost died from the
allergies reactions we had to one.The nurse didn't think our allergies
were "real" and said the flu was worse than any reactions we might have.
Now our allergist as sent a written order to our PCs letting them know
we can't have vaccines under his order.
Because the flu shot is grown inside eggs
